Personal correspondence of the families of Thomas Lynch and of his wife, Mary (Bingham) Lynch. The collection includes material relating to Thomas Lynch, Presbyterian minister of the Orange Presbytery, 1794-1869; to his son, W.B. Lynch, who conducted an academy at High Point, N.C.; and to Major Robert Bingham, head of Bingham School at Mebane, N.C. There is also a ledger (1 v., 88 p., 1860-1881) and some correspondence and other business papers of Lemuel Lynch, brother of Thomas and a silversmith and jeweler of Hillsborough, N.C. The itemized ledger entries record repair work on jewelry, timepieces, and other items owned by many local residents.
